Below, we’ve answered some of the most common questions parents ask about our Winter Break Camp.
What will the kids do all day?
Each camp day is full of hands-on activities, games, and (of course!) animal time.
Campers will:
Enjoy supervised animal encounters with a wide variety of species
Spend time outdoors for fresh air and play (weather permitting)
Get creative with animal-themed crafts and games
Take part in interactive learning sessions tied to the daily theme
We keep campers busy, engaged, and smiling from drop-off to pick-up - every single day!
Will they get to touch and hold the animals?
Absolutely! Every animal we engage with can be safely touched or held if your child chooses to. All animal interactions are designed to be safe, positive, and enriching for both campers and our animals. Whether they’re brushing a bunny, meeting a bearded dragon, or feeding a tortoise, each moment helps build confidence and care.
What are the daily themes?
Each day of camp focuses on a unique animal-related career theme. Campers will step into the role of a different professional and discover what it takes to care for, understand, and help animals.
Here’s a sneak peek at our Winter Break themes:

Mini Veterinarian - Heart beats, pet exams, and even x-rays! How do we know when our animals aren’t feeling their best? Campers will explore how veterinarians help pets, farm animals, and even zoo animals stay happy and healthy.
Pet Groomer - Brushing, bathing, dust baths, and nail trimmings — how do our animals stay clean? Campers learn how pet groomers keep our animal friends clean, comfortable, and looking great.
Animal Nutritionist - Herbivores, omnivores, carnivores, and even insectivores — what do our animals eat? Campers discover how animal nutritionists choose the best foods to keep every species healthy and thriving.
Animal Presenter - Just like our friends here at The Zoo Crew! Campers learn what it’s like to be an animal teacher — sharing fascinating facts, building confidence speaking in front of others, and spreading love for animals of all kinds.
Every theme includes hands-on activities, creative challenges, and special animal guests that bring the topic to life!
What should campers bring each day?
Lunch and snacks (nut-free, please!) in an insulated lunch box
Indoor shoes and outdoor footwear
Weather-appropriate outdoor gear (don't forget the hats, mittens and snow pants!)
A refillable water bottle
We provide all craft and activity materials — and of course, the animals!
Who leads the camp?
Our camp staff are trained animal presenters and camp staff with a passion for sharing their love of animals with children. Each team member is First Aid certified, background-checked, and trained in safe animal handling and child engagement.
