Refund policy for events and camps 

Birthday Party Rescheduling Policy:

 

  • With 14-days or more notice from the scheduled event date: all event fees (including the deposit) will be transferred to the rescheduling date. 

  • With less than 14-days but over 72-hours notice from the scheduled event date: only the non-refundable deposit will need to be repaid in order to reschedule. 

  • With less than 72-hours notice from the scheduled event date: the non-refundable deposit will need to be repaid as well as 50% of the event cost (minus the deposit) in order to reschedule to a new date.

 

 

Birthday Party Cancellation Policy:

 

  • With 72-hours or more notice from the scheduled event date: deposits are non-refundable but any other paid party fees will be refunded.

  • With less than 72-hours notice from the scheduled event date: all event fees (including the deposit) is non-refundable. Rescheduling information can be found above.

Classes/Programs/Workshops Refunds:

  • Up to 14 days or more before the start date of the program – 100% REFUND – $15 Admin fee per child/per session.

  • 14 days or less before the session begins – NO REFUND  

  • If we are able to fill your spot with a camper from our waiting list, we will provide a full refund minus the $15 admin fee.

Camp/Program Refund Information:  

  • Refunds for camps/programs will be made if requested in writing, by email and will be refunded in accordance with the schedule below. Credit can be obtained for the full amount of the refund to use towards another program if the guidelines are met, and the program date is within the same calendar year.

  • ​Refunds on credit card or in the form of a personal cheque are subject to a $65 administrative fee (per camp session/per child,) deducted from the total allowable refund.​

  • Refunds in the form of personal cheque may take up to 4-6 weeks for processing. Refunds will be issued in the format they were originally paid.

  • The Zoo Crew/Pawsitively Pets Ottawa reserves the right to grant exceptions to the stated policy in situations including, but not limited to, illness and death in the immediate family.

In the case of forced business closure due to government shut-downs as was the case during Covid-19, refunds where applicable for programs will be subject to a $65 refund fee to cover processing & administrative fees.

 

PROGRAMS REFUND POLICY:​

The Zoo Crew/Pawsitively Pets Ottawa Refund Policy.  Refunds for all programs will be made in writing by email and will be refunded in accordance with the schedule below. Credit can be obtained for the full amount of the refund to use towards another program if the guidelines are met, and the program date is within the same calendar year. Refunds are subject to a $25 administrative fee (per camp session/per child) deducted from the total allowable refund. Refunds will be issued in the format they were originally paid.

COVID-Related Program Cancellation Information:  Refunds will not be available for any of our programs if we are required to shut down due to a pandemic or other extreme circumstances. A credit for future programming will be provided for use for a future program.

The Zoo Crew/Pawsitively Pets Ottawa reserves the right to grant exceptions to the stated policy in situations including but not limited to: illness and death in the immediate family.

No Refunds for Partial Program Attendance or Illness: We do not provide refunds or credits when someone chooses to leave programs partway through a program.  If your child is ill due to an infectious disease/illness/virus that will put other campers at risk and will need to be withdrawn from camp a doctor’s note will be required within 48 hours of the illness and a credit will be provided for 20% of the remaining camp/program fees that can be used for towards a future program. Virtually all of our expenses are incurred before the start of the camp or program. Similarly, we cannot give refunds or credits to people who have registered for more than one session if they choose during their first session not to attend another session. The exception to this is if we are able to fill the spot with someone on our waiting list, a waitlist fee of $65 applies to all refunds granted if we are able to fill the spot with someone from our waiting list.

 

Camp Refund Guidelines:

 

Summer Camp:​

  • Full-week sessions minus the $65 admin fee or a credit can be applied to your account with no administration fee - available until May 31.

  • By-the-day refunds minus $15 admin fee per day or a credit can be applied to your account with no administration fee - available until May 31.

  • 50% credit is available with notice provided with 30 days or more notice prior to the start of your camp date.

  • After May 31 no refunds are available.  

  • Transferring to a different session – changes to the dates you are registered for camp can be made up to 21 days before the start of your camp date based on availability and must fall within the same camp season.

March Break Camp:​

  • By-the-day refunds minus $15 admin fee per day or a credit can be applied to your account with no administration fee - available until February 10th.

  • Full week sessions minus the $25 admin fee or a credit can be applied to your account with no administration fee - available until February 10th.

  • 50% credit is available until February 21st

  • After February 21st, no refunds or credits are available 

  • Transferring to a different session – changes to the dates you are registered for camp can be made up to February 21st based on availability and must fall within the same camp season.

 

Winter Break Camp:

  • By-the-day refunds minus $15 admin fee per day or a credit can be applied to your account with no administration fee - available until November 25.

  • 50% credit is available until December 6

  • After December 6, no refunds or credits are available 

  • Transferring to a different session – changes to the dates you are registered for camp can be made up to December 6 based on availability and must fall within the same camp season.

 

*Refunds with less notice are available if we can fill your spot with someone from our waiting list. Please note our waiting list/transfer administrative fee is $25/day. You are also welcome to see if you have a friend or family member to take your spot, and we will transfer the spot to them subject to a $25 transfer fee; we require a minimum of 2 business days to transfer a spot to another participant.

PA Day Camp:​

  • Time of request – Up to 14 days or more before camp date – 100% REFUND – $15 Admin Fee per camper/per PA Day

  • Less than 14 days before PA Day Camp – NO REFUND

  • If we are able to fill your spot with a camper from our waiting list, we will provide a full refund minus the $15 admin fee.
