The Zoo Crew Presents: Little Critter Club - Where Toddlers Learn Through Animals

Looking for a fun and meaningful way to introduce your little one to the world of animals?

The Zoo Crew’s Little Critter Club is a hands-on parent-and-tot program designed especially for children ages 6 months to 4 years. Through songs, crafts, and gentle animal adventures, your child will discover how animals live, play, and communicate - all while building confidence, empathy, and curiosity.

Explore, Learn, and Grow

Each week, parents and caregivers join their toddlers for a 1-hour class at our Osgoode facility, starting at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesdays. Classes are kept small to ensure every child gets a chance to safely see, touch, and experience animals up close.

Little Critter Club is more than just animal fun — it’s a unique opportunity for early learning. Interacting with animals helps develop fine motor skills, social understanding, and a sense of compassion. For many children, this is their first chance to build positive, lifelong connections with animals in a calm and supportive setting.

Upcoming November Themes

November 12 – How Do I Play?

In this week’s class, children will help build Ferretopia, a miniature playground made just for ferrets! Watch as curious little minds (and ferrets!) explore, climb, and play together, showing kids how animals have fun too.

A toddler helps a Zoo Crew staff member give a small tortoise a gentle bath during the “How Do I Get Clean?” class.

November 19 – How Do I Get Clean?

Bath time gets wild! Meet our bearded dragons and tortoises as we explore how different animals keep clean. From gentle shell scrubs to warm water soaks, toddlers will learn how caring for animals can be calm, relaxing, and full of giggles.

A young child holds a stethoscope to bunny’s chest listening to the bunny's heart beat

November 26 – How Do You Know I Don’t Feel Well?

This special class introduces children to the idea of animal health and kindness. With a stethoscope in hand, toddlers will listen to a bunny’s heartbeat, discovering how veterinarians help animals stay healthy and happy.

For Parents and Caregivers

Little Critter Club is just as rewarding for adults! You’ll share meaningful experiences with your child, meet other local families, and enjoy a relaxed morning surrounded by animals. Each session combines learning with laughter — creating memories that parents and children will treasure long after class ends.

Join the Fun

Classes take place Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. at our Osgoode facility. Spots are limited to keep the groups small and personal - so don’t wait!
